What started as a hobby between two friends became an idea to help people grow their own fruits and vegetables, no matter the space they have available. We started out in a 3×3 Wendy house with only a seed tray and small grow light. Soon we grew our project to a bigger scale.
Our aim is to give everyone an opportunity to grow fruits and veg themselves. We believe everyone should be able to. No matter where you live or if you have a garden. Roots also likes to give back to the community. We aim to work with communities around the country to help them be sustainable and provide for themselves on a small scale.
Who are we?
Hj van Staden
Hj is the guy who keeps it all together. With his absolute drive for greatness he steers the Roots ship in the right direction and keeps us grounded and rooted (pun intended). Roots started in the backyard of the Van Staden house and we will forever be grateful for his VERY patient wife. Hj heads the financials and admin department.
Jacques Coetzer
Jacques is the dreamer and the one Hj needs to keep grounded. Always looking to take the next step he keeps pushing the boundaries of what is possible, sometimes impossible. The creative in the team. Jacques heads marketing and customer relations.
